Sandra. J. Taylor

Sandra Taylor began dancing at the age of six, as a pupil at the Keeling School of Dance, principal Beatrice Keeling, in Birmingham. As a “Keeling girl “  Sandra performed at the Birmingham Hippodrome    ( now the home of Birmingham Royal Ballet ) and Alexandra theatres amongst others, and went on to qualify at the age of eighteen as a dance teacher, and subsequently as a primary school teacher and graduate of Fine Art. Bringing all these elements together, Sandra founded the Sandra Taylor School of Dance in 1980 in West Bridgford.

The school has gone from strength to strength and has showcased its students in the major Nottingham theatres and at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Students are given every opportunity to audition for major theatre productions including pantomime and many have gone on to professional performing careers.

Lauren Tromilin (Taylor)

A.I.D.T.A. BA Hons

Lauren began her dancing life at the age of 3, trained under the expertise of her mum, Mrs. Taylor, when the Sandra Taylor School of Dance was just up and running in 1980. Since then whilst always studying Dance, Lauren gained an honours degree in Graphic Design at Nottingham Trent University, designing the posters and publicity for the hugely successful bi-annual shows.

During this time Lauren performed as a soloist with Nottingham Symphony Orchestra for a production of Karl Jenkins’ ‘The Armed Man’, performed as ‘Salome’ at the Nottingham Albert Hall, and also danced at The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden.

Her attention then turned to teaching, within the family dance school and also within the community, with regular classes at schools, health clubs, and nurseries. Some of Lauren’s guest teaching roles have been workshops for touring productions of ‘Never Forget’ the Take That musical, and ‘The Rocky Horror Show’. Most recently Lauren led a very popular weekly dance workshop at Nottingham Royal Concert Hall.

Now based in Kernascléden, Brittany, after just getting married, Lauren still keeps a watchful eye on the dance school as well as working on new dance projects in the area. Lauren is very proud to announce the 'Taylor Tromilin école de danse' has now been established, and looks forward to expanding the school internationally!

Lauren Parker

MA and BA (Hons)

Lauren began her training age of three, where she completed all Royal Academy of Dance syllabus grades Pre-Primary to Grade 8.

Whilst a student she became an original member of Nottingham Youth Dance, the sister youth company of the former New English Contemporary Ballet, through whom she met and performed for then Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Without any hesitation Lauren decided she wished to continue her passion for Ballet and Contemporary dance and began training at Coventry University on a three year degree program, which she was awarded the technical scholarship three years in a row. In 2010 Lauren gained a BA Honours Degree in Dance and Professional Practice, achieving Distinctions in Teaching and Class Delivery. After completing her degree, Lauren embarked on a Masters program in Arts and Project Management through Birmingham Institute for Art and Design. Lauren went on the graduate with Commendation in October 2011. Since completing her training Lauren has become a freelance dance teacher within the Nottinghamshire area delivering classes ranging from Pre-School to adult Ballet and Tap.
